Another extremely fun-inducing game is Octodad: Dadliest Catch. It follows the journey of our octopus friend, who is pretending to be a human in his life, which includes a job, a family, and everyday activities.
Octodad’s existence is a constant struggle since he must find ways to pass as a human even though his anatomy consists of boneless tentacles that are hard to wield and position. He must find ways to successfully fool everyone (including his human family), and go about his days without gaining too much suspicion.
The best thing about this game is undoubtedly the disorienting physics that Octodad’s tentacles follow. There’s no good way to prepare for his flailing tentacles, and controlling them is a feat in itself.
This game also features levels/missions, which require Octodad to carry out various adventures around town, all while remaining inconspicuous and hiding his true identity. Successfully completing these tasks will increase the trust that others have in you and thus give you more leeway for mistakes.
One way to compensate for your mistakes is to find the various hidden ties around the city, which you can wear to fit in more and ease others’ suspicions of your true octopus nature.
In this world, you get to learn more about Octodad’s backstory and how he came to be an octopus masquerading as a human. These stories provide insight to certain characteristics of his, which may or may not help you as you progress.
Another fun addition to this game is the fact that co-op is now available, meaning that a group of up to 4 players may control Octodad’s limbs at one time. You may also build and create your own missions for Octodad to embark upon, as well as play the levels from other Octodad fans.
Octodad: Dadliest Catch is endless fun and laughs. Due to the hilariously unbelievable nature of the game, it’s a great way to release stress by bringing a few laughs and smiles to you at the end of the day. So check out Octodad: Dadliest Catch, available on many platforms including Steam.
