Overcooked! 2 is the video game sequel to Overcooked!, in which up to four players work together in a restaurant kitchen to complete the orders of all the customers.
Players will start off juggling making a few dishes, but as the day progresses and the lunch and dinner waves hit, more and more orders accumulate, which can cause mayhem within the kitchen.
Every dish ordered takes a series of steps to complete. The more complicated orders may involve up to five steps. For example, one dish may require frying meat, chopping up vegetables, and cooking rice before the three can be combined into one order.
Every order that comes in will include the necessary steps needed to complete the order, a timer that indicates how long the customer has been waiting, and how far along all of the components are. Also, every kitchen only has a limited number of pots, pans, and plates, so players will have to manage their time, cooking, and cleaning to ensure that everything makes it out on time.
Along with the mad rush to make food, the kitchen may also malfunction at random times throughout the day. Hazards such as fires and leaks might occur if one chef leaves something on the stove for too long, or if food is misplaced. When these occur, the chefs must use appliances such as fire extinguishers to put out the accident, which can rack up time and lessen the time you have to cook.
At the end of the work day, players will receive a ranking based on the amount of customers pleased with their orders, the time it took for the orders to be cooked, and the number of orders that were completed accurately. A good rating will allow players to unlock new things for their restaurant and upgrade dishes.
Overall, Overcooked! 2 is a great game to play with friends because even though it can be slightly panic-inducing at times, it can bring about some funny and chaotic moments that’ll be sure to make you laugh.
