Google Search Tip #4: The Minus Sign Omits Results

The minus sign (aka the dash) will eliminate unwanted search results. Let’s say you want to see information about a hurricane that was a harbor.  If you search “hurricane in harbor” you will get results from the amusement park Six Flags! We don’t want that, so instead we can type: hurricane in harbor -six flags.   This will give you results about the weather. Important: always put a space right before the minus, but not after it.
