May is Asian and Pacific American Heritage Month

May is Asian and Pacific American month, a chance to recognize those Americans whose ancestors come from across the Pacific, in some cases on the other side of the world. Asian Americans have had a huge impact on our country and the world: Jawed Karim and Steve Chen founded Youtube; Justin Kan co-founded Twitch; we’ve had eleven Asian-American astronauts; and just recently Korean-American Chloe Kim won a gold medal in the Olympics for snowboarding at just seventeen, making her the youngest woman to win an Olympic snowboarding medal ever.

To commemorate Asian and Pacific American month, check out the books below that try to encapsulate the experience of what it means to be an Asian or Pacific Islands American.
